Who they are

R. Lejeune & Fils S.A. is a major player in public and private civil works in the Liège region and eastern Wallonia. Active for more than 65 years, the family-owned company based in Spa employs 170 people and carries out around 550 projects a year, generating an annual turnover of 30 million euros. Holder of the highest-level Class 8 accreditation, it handles every stage of a project in-house, without subcontracting, from underground works to road resurfacing.

How we structured their ESG approach

Lejeune & Fils turned to ESGlogic to quantify its carbon footprint and build a credible reduction trajectory in a heavily exposed sector, civil works. The engagement began with an energy review and a carbon footprint covering scopes 1 and 2, across the whole group, Lejeune and its subsidiary Wilkin, both sites and offices. The analysis identified fuel used on construction sites, diesel and gas oil for trucks and machinery, as by far the dominant source of emissions. On this basis, a 2025-2030 reduction action plan was built with the company, prioritised measure by measure, from fleet renewal to eco-driving and the gradual electrification of company vehicles. This work culminated in September 2025 with tier 3 on the CO2 performance ladder, a milestone that now shapes the reduction roadmap for the years ahead.
