Who they are
Willpharma is a family-owned, independent pharmaceutical company founded in 1924 in Amsterdam. Based in Bierges, Belgium, it develops and markets medicines, medical devices and food supplements, with a strong presence in the Benelux and export partners abroad. Its compact size, between 11 and 50 employees, supports fast decision-making and a quality-first approach for patients.
How we structured their ESG approach
The engagement began with an ESG scan, establishing a baseline of existing practices across environmental, governance and social dimensions, covering both employees and clients and partners. This diagnostic formed the basis for a structured action plan built around three pillars, assess, structure and transform, spanning materiality and KPIs as well as governance, training, procurement and mobility.
In parallel, Willpharma carried out its 2024 carbon footprint, with a detailed breakdown by emission source. A roadmap was defined to refine scope 3 granularity for the 2025 footprint, with more precise categorisation of pharmaceutical purchases and the integration of supplier emissions data. This approach enabled Willpharma to earn the VSME Bronze medal.
