Common goal

What is B Corp certification?

B Corp certification is an integrated business certification that assesses and verifies a company's social, environmental and governance impact against B Lab standards.

Companies complete the B Impact Assessment, which evaluates governance, workers, community, environment and business practices.

Certification requirements depend on the company's size, sector and industry, ranging from 20 to 124 requirements to be met for certification.

Two types of requirements:

  • Core requirements: eligibility, legal requirements, risk profile
  • Thematic requirements: based on 7 themes (Human Rights, Purpose & Stakeholder Governance, Fair Wages, Justice Equity Diversity & Inclusion, Climate Action, Environmental Management & Circularity, Public Affairs & Collective Action)
