A food centre unlike any other in Brussels
La Ferme du Chaudron is the first food centre (Maison de l'alimentation) in the Brussels Region. It sits on the last farmland left in the city.
Its mission is to make sustainable food within everyone's reach. It welcomes schools, companies and individuals, including people facing financial hardship.
The site features a vegetable garden, a field, the Happy Farm educational farm, a grocery shop and the Chaudron restaurant. The restaurant is run by the Gastrosophes, an association that cooks in a circular and supportive way.

Sustainable team building in Brussels around soil, health and cooking
Team building packages let you spend a day on the farm, mixing working time in a space of your choice, a collective task or activity, and a shared meal. The programme is broad: cooking workshops, market gardening, walks, the vegetable garden, a nutrition game and more. Options vary with the season and with what your team wants.
All packages are detailed on the team building page of the website.
Our workshop: making your own stock
For our team evening, we chose the homemade stock workshop. People often reach for packaged stock without knowing exactly what is in it. Making it yourself changes that view.
Steps that seem complicated are in fact within everyone's reach. The result is also clearly healthier than an industrial stock cube.
Ekaterina, who led the workshop, also shared several everyday health tips that are easy to apply the very next day.
It was a highly constructive exchange for the team, in a calm setting. It felt like leaving the city and our daily routine behind, as if on holiday for a moment.

Why recommend this workshop to companies?
We recommend it for two reasons.
It connects with ESG values. The workshop covers topics that come up every day at the office and in reports: food, packaging, waste and health. Team members think about them together. For example, a packaged stock cube is one more piece of packaging, whereas homemade stock produces far less. Team cohesion grows around these concrete themes.
It anchors the company in its region. The Farm is a Brussels initiative, run by a group of five associations and open to everyone. Working with this kind of player directly supports initiatives in your area.
Conclusion
A team building day can be both useful and enjoyable. La Ferme du Chaudron shows that a team can come together around concrete topics, with a direct benefit for health and for the local area. Check the Farm's website to choose the package that fits your needs.
